I'm Hagop and my artist name is Hungry Man
I self-release on my label
Jump Music
I've been working in music for 25 years, since I was a teenager. This includes music production, live performances, djing, curating music events, festival production and running my own record label. I’m always learning new skills and during the Covid lockdowns I taught myself to play blues slide guitar. I also play drums and bass guitar and occasionally put down rapped or sung vocals on the tracks I produce. After all, the voice is an instrument too, and its the one we are all most practised at using!
I'm lucky enough to have performed all over the world at music festivals and events. Closer to home I've played Glastonbury, Boomtown Fair, Secret Garden Party, Electric Picnic, Victorious, Wilderness and The Remix. My productions that I release on my label Jump Music have been played on Kiss FM, various BBC stations and numerous online and pirate stations too. I've had my own regular shows on lots of stations, the most recent being UKBASSRADIO.
Two days a week I teach music production at a college in Bournemouth called AIMCommunity. I really enjoy working 1-on-1 with artists and helping make their musical dreams come true. I teach private lessons online or from my home studio on the edge of Wimborne Minster. It's equipped with synthesizers, bass guitars, electric guitars, a drum kit mic'ed with 8 drum mics, Pioneer and Technics DJ equipment, two sets of studio monitors and an Apollo audio interface.
My approach to teaching is to keep things fun and exciting. We'll work on what appeals to you most, and at the same time uncover your 'shadow side' - the areas that need further development. Together we will set long and short term goals, and I will give you things to work on in your own time that will move you closer to these goals. When the time is right I can help plug you into the industry through referrals and I'll teach you how to progressively build your own network.
You might choose to work with me if you:
• Play an instrument but have never 'finished a track'
• Play an instrument and want to make the jump into recording and production
• Write and produce in Logic or Ableton and want to improve the quality of your tracks.
• Want to get your music released on record labels or start your own.
• Have written songs or music and want to produce a professional sounding release.
• Want to get into or improve your vinyl or digital DJing
• Want to try out live streaming your music performance
• Want to get your music played on the radio and grow organic followers
• Want to make a living or career working in music
All the best and I hope you get in touch!
