Nothing Hill carnival 2025 did not disappoint! . By far the most peaceful carnival I’ve ever experienced. All day long it was so heartwarming watching people of all races being kind and respectful to each other, celebrating the diverse community that is life in Britain. . In previous years, I’ve seen fights, big groups throwing their weight around and all sorts of madness. This year felt completely different. . lots of great music, but as always, hats off to Aba Shanti-i @abashantiofficial for the glorious dub reggae sound and selection. I feel like hearing this rig at Notting Hill Carnival is one of the truest expressions of Dub music. There’s something about the resonance of the system between the buildings that cannot be matched anywhere else. . I feel that we can’t underestimate the importance of gatherings like this, where there is no entry fee and no age limit, the chance for all tribes to come together and dance and celebrate the music that we love outdoors in the streets with full freedom. we are still recovering from Covid and it seems like we’re permanently recovering from a world where so much communication and socialising is moving online and people are losing the skill of making friends in real life, chatting to new people with whom you will have things in common because you like the same music. . Big up to the police and the ambulance service, I did see a couple of people looking worse for wear who were quickly taken aside to a safe space by police and very quickly followed up with ambulance services. . Fast train there and back from Dorset with no delays. Gourmet burger at Waterloo before getting on train to Poole. Top day!! .
